Parenting Reality

I wanted to start this new blog with my best friend because I think the world needs just one more mommy blogging site … not really. What I really wanted to do was capture the honesty and reality of parenting. We are both REAL parents, in REAL different ways. I am more of a bare bones, tell it like it is kind of parent and she is a more gentle, patient kind of parent. Both styles of parenting work, depending on the kid, day, month, year, and hormone level.

The one thing I treasure most is that we are real with each other. No matter what I’ve screwed up or I am thinking about screwing up, she listens without judgment and gives me her heartfelt advice. Sometimes she doesn’t have a good answer for my dilemma and I cherish that, too. No one has all the right answers, all the time and that is what REAL parenting is all about.

So, if you leave the dishes in the sink for days, scream at your kids at the top of your lungs, forget your kid’s dentist appointment or just make more mistakes than you can count, you’re in the right place. We REALLY do understand. Real parents+ real kids = Parenting Reality. (I promise if I say the word “real” one more time, my best friend can smack me:)
